The heat here in southern Texas can literally kill you when the power goes out or the A/C breaks down during the summer months. This unit will run on a small generator (2000 watt) and it kept our 1800 sq ft home liveable for 38 hours in 106 degree heat during the day. It is on rollers so you can easily move from one area to another. It has a continuous drain feature that allows it to drain the condensation outside from a low window or into a pan large enough to last through the night. It comes with a window vent device that is very easy to put in any standard window. We are very happy with our purchase and highly recommend this unit for it's quality and ease of use.
